Becoming educated about racism is necessary. Becoming educated on the wrongs in history that have plagued the black communities is necessary. Compassion is necessary. We must speak up and make things right.
Please watch13th by filmmaker Ava DuVernay on Netflix, an award winning documentary which explains the history of racial inequality and the role of the prison system in the United States. This documentary was really eye-opening on the injustices in the history of our country. I highly recommend watching it.
