I love the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I love the original movie without all of the special effects starring Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka. It is the perfect tale of what happens when dreams do come true. A perfect feel good, funny movie for the holidays.
Going on the theme of candy, I decided to decorate gingerbread houses today, each honoring two organizations at HPU I love. It is honestly one of my favorite things to do at Christmas!
I loved LEGOs as a kid. I used to spend hours constructing LEGO houses. Maybe decorating gingerbread houses are a way of rekindling a childhood pastime. Anyway, I had so much fun. Like I said before, sometimes it is the littlest things that bring us joy.
Willy Wonka might not have given out the recipe for the Everlasting Gobstopper, but I will reveal 2 secrets for easy gingerbread house making.
You want to know the secret for easy candy adhesion? 3 words...a glue gun. I glued all of the candy on the house and then used the royal icing to fill in the empty spaces to make it look like snow.
