OUR EXTRAORDINARY NEW ARENA

This past September was the opening of the new, state-of-the-art $170 million Nido and Mariana Qubein Arena and Conference Center, which also is home to the Kahn Hotel and Mediterranean restaurant, Alo. The basketball arena holds 5,000 fans, hotel can accommodate 75 guests, the conference room holds 1,500 guests, and the restaurant is 5-stars.

Did you know that the scoreboard is the second largest in North Carolina and Tubby Smith is the men's basketball coach? He coached Kentucky to win the 1998 National Championship with Kentucky. HPU is also his alma mater.

On the way to the beautiful arena you past our outside ice skating rink, a great place to hang out with friends.

On November 11, I had the opportunity to volunteer for the Veterans Day Celebration, which was celebrated at the beautiful arena and a wonderful way to celebrate the men and women who have dedicated their lives to serving our country.

It was also a special day for me as I also celebrated my grandfather who had served in the Air Force and my great grandfather who had served in the Army.

Recently, I was also able to go to dinner at the new restaurant, ALO.

It was delicious. I got the salmon with rice and vegetables with sorbet for the desert.

And on the way out of the arena, there is also a beautiful store where you can purchase High Point University merchandise.

I would definitely recommend visiting and come cheer on the Panthers this season!
