STRENGTH AT HOME

Over the past few months, I wasn't able to attend my Pilates class in person, and gyms were closed. I found a way of still adding strength to my workout routine and I love it!

I was searching through YouTube and found some excellent workouts by Casey Ho, Pamela Reif, Annie Taylor Efremsky, and Rebecca-Louise. At first,I thought the videos looked pretty easy. I was wrong! They are challenging, but so worth it! I can tell you that I felt very sore after the first day, but now after doing them for awhile, I feel a lot stronger and I feel better on my runs.

I have found that the difference between making up my own strength workout versus following videos helps me become more motivated to do more exercises. Through the videos, I have also found that the smaller movements help to form a leaner body.

Every day, I usually run 5-7 miles or run 3 miles and do hill sprints. When I am done, I take a 10 minute break. Then, I lay out my mat, get my 2 pound weights and start with my arm workout. I switch back and forth between the Casey Ho and Annie Taylor Efremsky videos. I then move to the thigh and butt video by Rebecca-Louise and do some clamshells and crab walks with a resistance band. I finish with Pamela Reif's hard-core workout, no pun intended!

Next time you want to exercise without the high impact of weights, check out the YouTube videos below that I use for my workouts! They are awesome!

Casey Ho - Blogilates: Arm Workout

Annie Taylor Efremsky - Arm Workout

Pamela Reif - Core Workout

Rebecca-Louise - Thigh and Butt Workout
