Success comes from something you do consistently as the famous saying goes.
Last summer, I was racking my brain on how to make some extra money to put into my savings account. My aunt recommended Poshmark, an online reseller of clothing and household goods. I had seen friends resell clothes via Instagram, but I wasn’t sure I was ready to get involved with people I didn’t know Venmo’ing me money without some form of protection and assurance. It seemed risky.
Yes, Poshmark does get a percentage of profits, but in the end time is money and the safety and ease of using the site really appealed to me. After someone purchases an item, I print out a label, package it and send it out. After their approval, my profits go into my account. Poshmark is a great community of buyers and sellers, who support each other’s success.
I developed a name and designed a logo and branding identity. I take all of the photos of my items myself. It is a great way to hone my photography and styling skills. It has become a great little side business for me! Through hustle and consistency over the past year, I have built my savings and gained some experience of entrepreneurship.
