A fun place to visit in Miami is the Wynwood Walls. I absolutely love exploring all of the different painted murals. A little closer to home is a cool place called the Mosaic District in Virginia. One of the street artists featured there is Kelsey Montague.
You might know her work if you like Taylor Swift. She is known as her favorite street artist. Montague has been commissioned to paint murals of butterfly wings all over the country.
I looked her up and read about her in an article in People Magazine. What is so interesting is she began painting them during a difficult time in her life. She said in People, “Making wings is not just drawing for me, it’s my way of showing the world love and giving something I love so much to others. Wings are pure love for me and making them out of love for others has in return given me my own pair of wings.”
It is so much fun exploring street art because you are able to not only interact directly with it, but you can actually become a real part of the artwork itself. If you want to explore one of her murals even closer to home if you live in Baltimore, head up to Hunt Valley Center. She painted a real beauty there as well!
